Twisted X® and Two Ten Footwear Foundation banded together to help those affected by the recent natural disasters in California, Texas, and the Bahamas. The companies partnered with the Two Ten Footwear Foundation, Share Your Shoes, to help give back. In all, the companies donated 1.6 million dollars’ worth of shoes. From Twisted X alone, that adds up to over 14,000 pairs, according to Tricia Mahoney, Twisted X®‘s VP of Marketing.

Proceeds from the shoe sales will go to footwear industry employees and their families that were affected by the natural disasters, and any extra funs will go to emergency financial relief for footwear industry families in crisis.

“Twisted X® emphasizes compassion as one of their highest priorities as a company. They are a perfect example of the care and concern inherent in our footwear community, and we are honored to partner with them. Their generous donation of 14,000 pairs of footwear helps us provide emergency financial relief to our colleagues in crisis,” said Terri Rawson, Chief Marketing & Development Officer for Two Ten Footwear Foundation. 

“We have a responsibility as humans to help the environment and community we live in. People often overlook donating footwear – we’re a humanitarian-focused footwear brand. It just makes sense and it’s who we are,” explained Twisted X® CEO, Prasad Reddy. 

This aid goes even further than shoes. In addition to the thousands of pairs they donated, Twisted X® also gave blankets made from their ecoTWX material (made from 100% salvaged water bottles) to victims to affected areas in the U.S. and the Bahamas.

“We were lucky enough to be able to donate $2 million dollars’ worth of footwear to those affected by Hurricane Harvey back in 2017. Being able to help those in need is just in our DNA. Our intent is to pay it forward in hopes that other will too. On this earth, we are a team of humans… and we all need to support each other,” said Mahoney.

In this day and age, we need more companies to take steps to help not only the community, but the environment. Twisted X® is taking big steps to do both.
