Cowgirls have an opportunity like never before.
You'll need a performance horse You'll need a rope You'll need training
The contestant has a rope tied fast to her saddle horn.
Upon entering the “box” and backing into position, she nods for the release of her calf.
The calf gets a head start, so the roper must not break the barrier.
Roping the calf, she brings her horse to a quick stop, causing the rope to break away.
This dramatic break away action exposes the flag, alerting the arena judge to stop the clock.
The fastest time wins.
