“Western Skies Handmade is a one-woman shop nestled in the beautiful high plains of northeastern New Mexico. With a life-long passion for creating beautiful things, leather tooling has taken the spotlight the last two years and I have fallen in love with the endless variety of possibilities it brings. Entirely self-taught, my style is constantly evolving as my techniques are refined.
“Growing up in Wisconsin, I traveled west for college, studied music performance and earned a degree playing the flute and piccolo. I dabbled in ceramics and jewelry, built trails in the Grand Canyon and across the country, and eventually married a Texas cowboy. After years of hopping around from ranch to ranch, each one more remote than the last, we have finally found a beautiful piece of country to call home and .
“I never envisioned myself becoming a wife to a saddle-making cowboy, mother to two country-raised kiddos, and running my own successful business but I am so thankful for all of life’s crazy turns and the friends and strangers that have supported and believed in me. It’s been a wild ride so far and the journey is far from over!” -Sarah of Western Skies Handmade
Belts aren’t anything new on the scene, but styling them this way definitely is! Sometimes, a belt on your hips or at the waist just doesn’t go with your outfit. Think about adding one to your neckline for a little extra flair!
Loving the crushed velvet with the tooled leather!
Black is always classic, and so is anything handmade!
