Anticipation is growing for the Women’s Rodeo World Championship Week, May 14 -20 at the historic Cowtown Coliseum. The WCRA and PBR are proud to announce the week-long schedule of events, which is set to pay out $1.145 million in prize money and will now include a new Last Chance Qualifier- making it the richest week in Women's rodeo.

The Women’s Rodeo World Championship Week will include the 2023 Women’s Rodeo World Championship, the WRWC Last Chance Qualifier, and The Cowgirl Gathering- just to name a few of the highly anticipated events. The Last Chance Qualifier will be held on May 17 featuring a Pro and Challenger Barrel Race, Team Roping, and Breakaway Roping. This last-chance qualifier allows those who haven't earned their spot in the WRWC one last chance to compete on the big stage.

Cowgirls from various walks of life are nominating their rodeos for points through the WCRA app, in hopes of having enough points to qualify for the WRWC come May.

Team Roper Christie McClary is currently sitting among the top four of the Heeling standings and explained “Nominating as much as possible, and at as large of ropings as possible has truly given me the flexibility and opportunity to earn large point values."

She described the beauty of nominating, in that it allows athletes to determine their own strategy and path to success. It has been this flexibility and support that has aided McClary in her success and nomination strategy.

Many Cowgirls like McClary are looking forward to this revolutionary week of women's rodeo in May. More information regarding the nomination process and Last Chance Qualifier can be found here.
